Confidence, Curated
Our story
Many of our Go For Glass members come from less affluent households, and building a business professional wardrobe for competitions can be a significant challenge. In these communities, even finding quality secondhand options is often difficult.
While this program is currently focused on Washington State, members have already expressed interest in launching similar efforts in other regions.
Our goal is simple: provide high-quality professional clothing at no cost. We offer a wide range of sizes, along with guidance on combining pieces into a polished, competition-ready look. Our inventory includes approximately 2,500 clothing items, as well as shoes, jewelry, ties, and belts. The collection emphasizes trusted brands such as J.Crew, Talbots, Ann Taylor, Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, and similar labels.
Our program has been piloted at a local high school in Bothell, refining the experience ahead of the next DECA season. During that pilot, we helped dozens of students find outfits, including several who were so enthusiastic they wore their new suits for the rest of the school day.
Our primary focus remains on DECA students, with potential expansion to graduating seniors preparing for interviews. We are currently selecting a location for our next full event. If your school or DECA area would like to be considered, please reach out!
Help the cause
While we self-funded the initial collection, continued growth will depend on community support. If you are in the Seattle area, we welcome donations of gently used business attire and accessories in sizes XXS–L. For those outside the area, we are happy to cover shipping costs or coordinate pickup through Go For Glass volunteers when possible.
Financial contributions also make a direct impact. Thanks to the availability of quality secondhand clothing, we can outfit a student with a complete business look for approximately $20. Go For Glass is currently in the process of setting up the ability to take donations, but we are still working to obtain 501(c)(3) status and thus donations are not yet tax-deductible.
I really enjoyed my time there. The people were very nice and helpful, and I was able to find the perfect outfit.
